Chapter 136 – She could not possibly share the inside story with the outsiders (1)

Many of the businesses that Li WangJin had contacted earlier had also reposted his Weibo message in an effort to increase his traffic and exposure. The hotness of the topic continued to rise.

Li WangJin happily opened up a treasured bottle of red wine as he saw the trend. Two glasses of wine later, he was a little elated. He dug out Fang JunRong’s phone number and tried to call her – he was still blocked. He would have been enraged in the past, but he was in a very good mood right now and decided against being petty with her.

He pulled out another cellphone and called her. Twenty seconds later, he heard his ex-wife’s voice which he hadn’t heard in a while.

“Hello?” Her voice was evenly keeled and seemingly very relaxed as usual. It was as though nothing could possibly happen that would make her reveal her weaknesses. He never liked her attitude much in the past, and now he looked forward to making her break a sweat.

“JunRong, it’s me.”

There was a hint of mockery in Fang JunRong’s voice. “You didn’t do half bad. You’ve turned quite a few employees against me.”

Li WangJin was happy. “They know what’s best for them. It’s everybody for themselves. Doesn’t that only make sense? Besides, I’ve always had the formula since before our divorce. I am only just now starting with the production, that was all.”

Li WangJin couldn’t possibly admit to corporate espionage, so he’d have to insist on having possession of the formula since before the divorce. He didn’t want to go to court with Fang JunRong over this.

“You’ve been away from the business world for too long and you no longer belong in it. I am only teaching you a lesson because we were once a couple. Monopoly is not a good thing in the business world.”

Just look at Fang JunRong. She held onto everything and wouldn’t even let a little bit of profit slip through the cracks for others. Once an opportunity arose, others would come diving in. The reason he was able to have so much publicity today was partly the water army that he hired but also partly all the other companies who were willing to give him a slight nudge.

They’d naturally side with Li WangJin over Fang JunRong who had monopolized the entire market.

He wanted to say more, but he heard the dial tone; Fang JunRong had already hung up.

When he tried to call back, he noticed that his number was blocked.

Li WangJin pictured how Fang JunRong was flustered from anger and felt that much of the discontent that he had been feeling a while back had been alleviated. He posted another message on Weibo.

[888 yuan for a box of Cherry Blossom Pills on the day of Shopping Festival. 50% off on all orders placed ten minutes before midnight. 70% on all orders placed before 12:30 AM.]

After he had posted it, he had refreshed it a few times. Certainly there were those who called him an awful person, but there were more comments praising him for how generous he was. Li WangJin liked a few comments that he found pleasing and went to bed, content.

Fang JunRong, whom Li WangJin thought was very upset, was in a pretty good mood right now.

She hadn’t expected that Li WangJin and Zhang Bi would be so bold as to launch a million boxes all at once on the day of the Shopping Festival. They were not worried that they’d lose their pants. And they were unusually confident in their version of Beautify Pills.

Li WangJin had made so much fuss that many of those who were close to her had called to ask about it and some even called to comfort her.

Truth was, Fang JunRong was in a pretty good mood. As she could not possibly share the inside story with the outsiders, she could only muddle it through.

As for the few companies who had sided with Li WangJin, she had blacklisted them all. She would never work with them again, ever.

Her fingers bent, and she drummed on her desk.
